Tuskeegee Airman Honored

96 year old Sergeant John Watson receives his long awaited Congressional Gold Medal on West Virginia's Always Free Honor Flight.

Country Roads: The Legislature Today

Sen. Bill Cole stands to urge support of making “Country Roads” by John Denver an official state song. Dreama Denver, wife of Bob Denver, started the campaign and looks on as the Senate unanimously passes her resolution.

Country Roads

“Take Me Home, Country Roads” was sung by the Appalachian Children’s Chorus at a ceremony at the West Virginia statehouse proclaiming it one of the state’s songs. Dreama Denver, widow of actor Bob Denver, no relation to singer John Denver who made the song famous, was instrumental in achieving the resolution. It was also performed by the Cabell Midland High School Band.
